| spa |
dc.description.abstract | Citrus anthracnose (Colletotrichum acutatum) can cause considerable yield loss in citrus orchards. The symptoms of the disease include petal necrosis, premature fruit drop, and persistent calyces. To determine the effect of the pattern and environmental conditions such as precipitation, relative humidity, and temperature on the development of anthracnose, we randomly selected Tahiti lime plants grafted onto six rootstocks: Citrumelo, Sunky x English, Carrizo, Volkameriano, Kryder 15-3 and Cleopatra prepared at the Corporación Colombiana Agropecuaria AGROSAVIA “La Libertad” experimental orchard in Villavicencio, Meta. We conducted the experiment during three flowering seasons, each with different climatic conditions. We evaluated the incidence of the disease and the percentage of persistent calyces. The results showed no significant differences in the incidence of the disease and the number of persistent calyces among the patterns under evaluation. However, the effect on the fruit drop, expressed in persistent calyces, depended on the climatic conditions favoring the development of the pathogen, i.e., the rainy months, the high relative humidity, and low temperatures, as well as predisposing factors causing considerable fruit loss due to the disease in Tahiti limes grown in the Colombian eastern foothill piedmont. | eng |
