dc.description.abstract | Se hizo la activación física de carbones provenientes de El Cerrejón con el fin de evaluar distintas condiciones de activación para obtener carbones activados con distintas propiedades de interés. Estos se caracterizaron utilizando los índices de yodo y de azul de metileno (ASTM D 4607, NTC 4467). Se encontró que el carbón activado obtenido por activación física presentaba una capacidad de adsorción de colorantes de hasta un 70% y, por ende, podía aplicarse en el tratamiento de aguas industriales contaminadas con colorantes utilizados en la industria textil. | spa |
dc.description.abstract | Physical activation of El Cerrejón coal was performed to evaluate different activation conditions and obtain active carbons with different properties. These ctivated carbons were characterized using the iodine and methylene blue indexes (ASTM D 4607, NTC 4467). We found that the activated carbon obtained by physical activation was able to remove up to 70% of dyes and that it had a good potential to be used in the treatment of industrial waters contaminated with dyes from the textile industry. | eng |
